You start now to take your puppy into your garden. every hour take it outside and also after food. take outside at night every hour.
It is going to take about a year to get any dog fully trained.

They dont understand, you house train them. Take he/she outside about every 10-15 minutes, and if it does his/her buisness, praise him/her and give him/her a treat, they will soon learn that its bad to go indoors.

It has nothing to do with age and everything to do with training (assuming this is a puppy you have taken home and is not sitll with the mother)

It depends on how diligently you are training them. If puppies are trained correctly, they understand potty training by a few month old. Five months at the most. Since puppies have weak bladders, they may still have occasional accidents in the house until they are a year old or so.

They will never understand until you train them to know that going outside is the right thing to do. Take the dog out often so it barely gets a chance to have accidents in the house, especially take it out after feeding it, give it lots of praise when it pees outdoors. When it goes inside, don’t make a fuss, just take the dog outside immediately.
