my westie is 1 yr old. the golden is 3 months. one thing i’ve noticed is that the golden is very relaxed while my westie is tense.
It depends on the individual dog – not the breed. My golden retrievers get along well with any friendly dog, but they’ve also been socialized. If you have a golden who has never been out of the house, I’d be a bit more wary.

Any dog is a good pair, as long as socialized right…..I believe that if you get the opposite sex than the one you have know then everything should be fine. Also as long as they spayed/ neutered.

It depends on the dogs themselves if they get along with other dogs or not. You will have to find out yourself…

In general, I would say that it would depend on the personalities of the dogs. But I have a westie and their breed is very friendly to EVERYONE, from people to dogs to pets, etc. My westie has interacted with my cousins golden retriever and they get along very well. But you just have to make sure the golden retriever doesn’t smoosh the westie. lol. Hope this helps!

My dog (who’s a golden) gets along with ANY dog, cat, baby, kid, adult that she comes across.
Goldens are very "family" orientated dogs and they are generally great with any dog/cat/person. But that is where training comes in.
