I already have a westie, what medium or large sized dog would get along with her. Whats the best one?
Very vague question… Do you want a high energy, high prey drive, high defense driven dog or a more mellow dog? Don’t go for breeds because of their looks, go for a dog whos personality best suites your lifestyle.

it is more dependent on the dogs personality, getting along has nothing to do with the breed.

Dogs are breed-blind. They do not care.
It depends on the dog’s personality whether they would get along with a small dog or not.
You could avoid dogs with high prey-drives, but even those dogs could get along just fine. I suggest going to your local shelter and checking out the dogs that need a home.

it is not what will you should ask about you should aks what will not.for the most part as long as you get a young puppy they will adapt to one another as they grow.problems may arise if you put 2 large dogs with 1 small dog.they are pack animals and have been known to try and eliminate the smaller if they feel it is not useful.this is rare but does happen.

Westies are the typical terrier, sassy, smart, and with a true mind of their own. If it is a nonneutered male you probably would want to get a female which ever breed you pick, so he will not become territorial. I have usually seen folks with one westie will get more westies. However if you want something else, maybe something in the Mastiff family, An Englishbulldog also love any other pets. Thanks
