When do I start taking my 2 month old westie on walks? Should I wait or start?
yes u shuld start lead training her . . . she will probably not like it at first but if ur persistant and give her lots of praise she should respond well, make it fun and dont let training be 2 long because she is still a baby and her attention span is short and she will get tierd easily.but at 2 months of age she wouldn’t have had all her injections yet, normally a puppy will have its final injection at 3 months of age and booster shots every year. so before she has had all 3 of her puppy injections she shuldnt leave ur property or have her around dogs that u are not sure that theyv had there injections it is a risk 2 her health. if a young puppy that hasnt had all its injections yet gets something like kennel cough they are very likely 2 die. so i suggest u stick 2 ur back yard 4 now

I walked my 6 week old puppy! Granted, I only walked her around my yard, but it’s not too early to walk your puppy. Dog’s have an instinct that makes them want to explore an area other than their home. Just make it a short walk, you don’t want to tire her out too much. Carry her back if you accidentally walk too far. Enjoy your walk!
ps. Use a leash for her safety! I know your two month old won’t run too far from you, but a cat could cross the road as a car is coming for all you know, causing your puppy to try and give chase. Sorry if it’s obvious to you, but I’ve seen many people walk their puppies without leashes. They may not run, but they are NOT trained, and could get hurt because of it.

Only in the yard at first to get her used to the collar and leash. You’ll probably want to wait for her to have more vaccinations before venturing further.

I think that with any puppy you should begin doing activities young. But start small. With going for a walk you may have to carry your pup half the way but it will be a nice way to start getting her socialized with other animals and people.
