I just need to know how many times a day I can feed my 7 month old Westie?
And I would also like to know about the weight at this age…
Thanks!

Weight varies according to each Westie. Seven months is old enough to have 2 meals (morning and at night).. If you can see his/her ribs feed more, if you don’t see a definite indentation at the waist, feed less. You should be able to feel his ribs, but not see them, and holding his fur against his body, you should see a definite waistline. If not, feed less. It’s body structure that counts, not actual weight.

Twice a day. You know the margarine cups? Give him one in the mourning and one in the afternoon. If he suddenly decids not to eat, leave the food bowl down for 20 min, and if he hasen’t eaten anything, thats it untill the next mealtime. Then he will definatly tuck into his food, i’ve done it with my dog, and we’ve never had any problems with her since.

I’d feed him/her 2 times a day. Morning and evening. I’d bet 15 lbs…. but that is just a guess. It definitely varies. As another person said it is all in the ribs. If you can’t feel the ribs when running your hand over his/her back then you are good just make sure he/she isn’t overweight. You really should be able to tell a healthy weight.
