I had my Westie groomed today and I wanted it to be cut a bit shorter than what it was before but instead, they shaved her. On the bright side, she won't be too hot for the summer but how long will it take for her fur to grow back and will it look the same as it did before?

Wow sorry they shave her. Westies do not look attractive shaved & rarely are they matted enough to warrant shaving with their coarse hair. Hair on dogs typically grows about three fourths of an inch each month though everyone hair does grow a bit faster when it is warm & younger dogs grow faster also. I would get suggestions from local breed club for suggestion on better groomer. You can grow in 2 mos to shop & have her clipped so the westie shape will be more apparent than waiting months. Even hair only being slightly longer on legs & skirt than back will look much better. Keep her brushed even with short hair.
