Anyone Have Any Tips on Getting a Westie?(Those Who Have One or More Would Be Nice!)?

Im in th process of looking for a West high land terrier. It would help if some of you were from Eastern Va or Eastern NC. Anyone with tips on choosing one, the process of getting one, choosing a breeder and so on? Personal experience would be nice! you can email me also that would be sweet! thanks!

Just be sure you have researched the breed so you know what you are getting into! They are wonderful dogs on the norm, but since they were bred for vermin hunting, they like to dig, and fit into tight spaces. They also bark alot. This is so that if they went underground and got stuck, the owner could find them and dig them out. Make sure to check the health certificates of any breeder, no matter how reputable you think they are. And have your new pet examined within 15 days of purchase by a vet. That way, you can insure your new westie is healthy and happy. Good luck!!

    hi,

The best way to describe this wee white terrier from Scotland is simply to say that he's so full of self-esteem that he knows he's the best thing around. Always on the lookout for a good time, he'll make you laugh while he entertains himself. He's friendly and happy, with a lively nature that endears him to everyone (except small rodents), especially when he cocks his head to the side and looks at you quizzically.
