I’m getting a west highland white terrier this year and i want to adopt from a shelter. Petfinder barely has any westie puppies up for adoption so i’m looking for a shelter that specializes in westies.
There is NONE…though there *might* be a state PARENT CLUB/BREED RESCUE contact….go to the AKC & check!
You will ******NOT***** find a puppy to "adopt"=ANIMALS are bought & sold & PUPPIES aren’t DUMPED in pounds OR rescue!

There are Westie Rescue groups all over the country. Puppies are of course not as easy to come by as the adult dogs. The adults are usually terrific pets, most are already potty trained etc. Petfinders should have a listing for you.

I just got a westie Monday, and we live in MI, it was hard to find a good breeder. I feel like I am doing it all wrong though. Roxy is very whiney, when she is in her area. (we have gates set up in the kitchen) Any suggestions or is this normal?
