She was the only female in her litter and our only other dog is male. I understand she probably picked it up from him but she's 5 and only recently started doing it. It's incredibly cute cos she can't balance properly when she tries.

I'm just curious, is it just a mannerism she picked up? Have you heard of other dogs doing it?

females will mark too… yep yep!

Marking is ussually a learned behavoir.. even a male does not do it until he learns from another dog.
