How Can I Brush My West Highland Terrier?

I have a Westie puppy that is a little over 6 months old. Her hair always looks really frizzy and stringy, and there are always mats and knots of hair in it. Is there any way I can take care of that and keep her hair in good shape by brushing her? What kind of brush should I use?

get a soft universal brush and a comb and brush towards the head to get under the hair and when u think you done a good job comb threw it, make sure you do this before you bath her because the shampoo and water just make the mats worse.

she may need de-matted or puppy hair thinned off , a groomer can do this and cut her featherings as well as trim her nails.

You must brush her at least twice a week to keep matts at bay ,and get her used to grooming as westies are very bad for snapping soon as they see a brush, they dislike handling (told to me by a groomer-she said they nipped more than any other breed of dog during a hairdo )

    good luck
