Irish dog lovers - please help?

Does anyone know of an animal rescue centre anywhere near Rathmullen, in Co. Donegal? If you do, PLEASE let me have contact details.

I am trying to get help for a poor little stray dog in Rathmullen. This little black dog (about the size of a West Highland Terrier) is in a pitiful state with mange. It also lost a lot of its' hair and has open sores on one of its' back legs. Some asshole has put a childs T-shirt on the little dog and it's now falling to bits with dirt. This poor dog is scratching itself to bits and needs help quickly.

I came across this pathetic little dog in Rathmullen just a couple of hours ago. I wanted to bring it home to take it to a vet but my brother would not allow me to take it in his car. I don't have a car, nor do I drive - otherwise I would go straight back for it. By asking around in shops etc, I have established that it is a stray surviving on what it can find in bins to eat.

Does anyone have any contacts in Donegal? PLEASE!
Unfortunately, Donegal Dog Wardens would not give this wee dog a chance because of the mange. I have spoken to the Rainbow Animal Shelter (Tel: 028 7181 2882), Animals in Need (Donegal) (Tel: 00353 74 97 21312) and Donegal Pet Rescue (Tel: 00353 86 85 66626). They have all been VERY helpful and, fingers crossed, we will be able to get hold of this little fella and get him to a vet - fingers (and toes) crossed that the type of mange he has can be treated. If we can get him restored to good health, I have a contact in an animal shelter here in the north, who will then find him a new home. That would be the fairytale ending so, here's hoping!

Hi, the nearest centre I can think of is the Rainbow shelter in Derry..but sorry I have not their number. Why not try the local radio station "Highland Radio" they may have contacts in Donegal.
