I have never had a small dog befor but moving into an apartment HELP!?

I need help! I have never ownd a small dog in my life! Just recently i got over the death of my american staffordshire terrier from having cancer :( Now that i dont have a dog i can move into this appartment that i allways wanted but when i calld they said only small dogs…okay i was JUST about to rescue a rottweiler from the animal shelter.
I want to become a Show dog so im going to buy a akc registered teacup bread
Okay sofair i have 4 breeds on my mind and i kinda want one with a little aggression so that they can bark if someone knocks on the door if im on the shower or something.

I have a Pug
a pomeranian
a west highland white terrier
and a Papillon
I have googled all the breeds but i just dident find out what i wanted to know! If you own the breed please tell me what you know about it!
I need to know how friendly and how not friendly they are and how much exersize they need and how much they bark and if they are lazy or not and just tell me everything i need to know! Like i said
i have only ownd BIG dogs all my life!:( wish me LUCK!
Thank you guys i got a Pomeranion and she is a verry loving dog and she is a show dog now and verry smart allready house traned thank you the best dog i ever had!

My mother's pomeranian was female and she was a little aggressive. It could have just been that dog though. I'm not sure if it's a trait of that breed.

well I KNOW that beagles bark alot (I have one)well they don't bark all the time just when they need me for something. My dog is about 1 foot high maybe smaller and is around 15-25 pounds

First you need to do a lot of research on what it take to have a show dog finish. It takes years and a lot of traveling and no breeder can guarantee a show dog. Also, there is no such thing as a teacup anything. They are dogs that are interbred, usually from runts which very rarely meet show dog standards. You were going to adopt a rott from a shelter, why aren't you willing to adopt a small dog from one and save a life?? Buying a "show dog" from any breeder will cost you big bucks and, like I said, no guarantees. Think about it and research both options, and the breeder (are her dogs titled dogs are just AKC) before you commit.

My wife has always had working dogs (herders) and a couple years ago we got a Papillion because she wanted a lap dog.
A Papillion, as you may know, is a toy Spaniel.

Our girl is very energetic; loves to chase a ball and drag her blankee around. Will lay in my lap for a while (if I don't pet her). Is a bit noisy, but has responded very well to a bark control collar.
The only hard part was housebreaking. It took quite a while before she really 'got it'.
She's a princess and a bit willful, and doesn't like going out in the yard when it's wet or rainy so we have to stand there and run her off the porch in the morning or before bed (or she'll mess on the porch).
She's taken to the leash fairly well though more practice would help.

All in all, she's been a good choice for our situation and a good companion.
