In three weeks there will be a new furry little member in my family. If you’ve owned a Westie, what are they like, what difficulties should I be prepared to face?
I’d love to also read any endearing stories of your Westie. You can’t imagine how excited I am for the 27th of March when I get to pick him up, I’ve been patiently waiting for a dog for 10 years due to having lived in a unit, seeing others with dogs almost brought tears to my eyes.

Great choice in dog, my westie (spankey) is 2 years old now and the best choice i could’ve made in purchasing a dog. He is such a lover, he is very dependent on our family he is very social so he does not like too be alone.He loves playing soccer and going for walks, if he doesn’t get them daily he isn’t very happy so you need to be able to provide exercise for your pup. The only problem we have encountered with our westie is that he doesn’t like small children ( but he wasn’t raised by them in his defense) he bit a small neighbor boy in the face because the boy was staring him in the eyes. He didn’t do any damage to the boy he just got spooked so be sure to introduce your puppy to new things when there young so when there older they don’t do things like that.He is a very smart dog he knows exactly when my parents are going to get home for work when its that time he will go wait by the door and he gets so excited when they get home! Congrats on the new puppy, I’m sure it will be a great loving dog.
