breeders who do not breed by standards are not reputable breeders. People who advertise in the paper are not good breeders.. they are BYBs looking to make a quick and easy profit. They dont breed for healthy, quality animals, and could care less about who they sell their puppies to.

If you want a purebred pup you need to either go through your local breed club or AKC. Remember that a reg dog does not automatically mean it is a good example or even healthy. Make sure all tests are done and that you see both parents.

The american kennel club is a good place. You click the breed your want, and in what state, and it will tell you who has puppies availible. All the breeders have to follow rules so you know that the puppy was not bred for profit. Hope you find your new addition!
