I have looked at the kennel club website but there must be more than one good breeder around. We would be willing to travel but not too far.

i know youve said you’ve been on this but i came up with two.
Also i was looking for a Dachshund and i went on the Kennel club and rang one person and asked if she had puppies etc, but she hadnt but she then gave me a number for other breeders so you could ring them up and ask if they know of anyone els?

Does anyone know of a reputable dog breeders list in Alberta? I’m looking for a Westie breeder. In edmonton. Is there a registry for breeders? How do you know if a breeder is registered? Anyone know of a good Westie breeder in edmonotn?

Canadian Kennel Club maintains a puppy list: litters by province and breed.

What breeder did you go through? (name, website if applicable)
Would you recommend them? Are they reputable?
How old is your dog now? Is he/she healthy and good tempered?
I am NOT looking to purchase a dog. So I do not need to know where I can purchase one. I merely am looking for some other information.

I am familiar with the westieclubamerica.com website. Just because a breeder is listed on the site does NOT mean that they are reputable.

Rarely do reputable breeders "advertise" on the internet…because they don’t have to. Reputable breeders normally have a waiting list and/or will hold the puppies until the perfect home comes along. Starting with a breed club, local or national, is, however, a good starting point. Know that anyone who will sell anyone a puppy who shows up with the money is not reputable. If they sell you a puppy without a spay/neuter clause, they are not reputable. If they want to meet you in a parking lot, they are not reputable. If they refer to "ACA" registration or anything other than "AKC", they are not reputable. AND…just because a dog is AKC registered, does not mean it is a quality dog. There are sooooo many variables people just don’t realize when purchasing a dog. Westies from "reputable" breeders in this region run around $2,000 and up. Anything less is normally a back-yard breeder or puppy mill dog. ALL Westies in pet shops are from puppy mills or back-yard breeders. Period. PA has two regional Westie clubs – the William Penn Club and the Western PA Club…you might contact them for info as well.

We want to buy a westie. I found a breeder that has the best prices (but not "too good to be true") on breeders.net. He has on the listing that a $200 deposit will reserve my pick of the litter. His litter was born today. Is it safe to mail the deposit since he is an out of town breeder?

i would do alittle more research if i where you… research his name, ask for copys of his certificates and puppy contract ( if he doesnt have one of these, he’s prob not legit) ask him questions, make sure the dogs that where bred together have had genetics testing cause most legit breeders do this before breeding. research questions to ask the breeder before you send in the cash cause you never know, you might send it in and never see it again….

You can check in the newspaper, that’s probably the best place.

You could also give your local dog shelter a call, and see if they have any puppies.

It doesn’t have to be a breeder just a place or person that sells westies for cheap. Please tell me the cheapest place u can buy a westie puppy in Texas. Best answer gets 10 points!

not every breeder on here is good, but you can find cheap ones, locally.

we have found a westie breeder who is selling some of her puppies and she is selling the for £700 is that the right price or are we being ripped off should we wait for someone else selling some. btw the father of the puppies is a showdog
they are registered on the kennel club and also its not from over seas

I’m guessing your from the UK as the price was in £’s.
It all depends on the pedigree, but I have found accredited breeders from £300-£750. People vary the prices on bloodlines etc. You can go on the Kennel club website and find verified breeders.

I will probably get thumbs down now, but when I was looking for my Dobie, I looked for the rough price on EPUPZ then went to KC website and found the same verified breeder on there and he was recommended. My Dobie was up for £650 and I knocked him down to £500 as he knew the dog would be coming to an experienced handler and good home and probably knows that I will be back for another one lol (maybe he just wanted rid of me lol) . I wanted them all and if I’d had a farm and the money I would of took them all, that’s after I saved the ones from the shelters, EVERYONE else.

all vacinations stambum blabla already done
tattoo done
and everything done.

all i want to do it care for the puppy and watch it grow well
im only 11, so i cant really take care of the vaccinations and stuff.

Try breeders.net. Type in your postal code the breed you want and it will show the breeders closest to you. Hope this helps!
