Are There Any West Highland White Terrier Owners in Dallas or Frisco? ?
Monday, September 14th, 2009West Highland White Terrier Shelters in MI?
Saturday, August 22nd, 2009I’m getting a west highland white terrier this year and i want to adopt from a shelter. Petfinder barely has any westie puppies up for adoption so i’m looking for a shelter that specializes in westies.
There is NONE…though there *might* be a state PARENT CLUB/BREED RESCUE contact….go to the AKC & check!
You will ******NOT***** find a puppy to "adopt"=ANIMALS are bought & sold & PUPPIES aren’t DUMPED in pounds OR rescue!

What Is the West Highland White Terrier Dog Breed Like?
Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009I'm 13 and am looking too get a dog, I'm thinking of getting a westie coz of it's size but i have 4 cats and I have read that they might chase cats… any info you can tell me about this breed??? I also have 2 sisters and 3 brothers. Thanks. xxx
They're great I have one. They don't shed and mine doesn't bark. It's playful but it's also relaxed. Mine is usually by my side. They can be very active but they can be laid back if u want them to.

Is a West Highland White Terrier a Good First Dog?
Monday, March 30th, 2009If not, what are other great dogs?
It depends on your situation and on the dog. I personally think that westies are extremely yappy, which drives me nuts, but others may be able to put up with it. Any dog can make a good first dog, as long as you have done your research, are prepared, etc. Good luck! (PS check out your local SPCA for dogs!)
Is a Westie (West Highland White Terrier) Hypoallergenic?
Tuesday, February 17th, 2009We would like a small dog that is hypoallergenic and we really like westies, please answer!
No.
No dog is truly "hypoallergenic".
Everyone's allergies are triggered by different aspects of the dog, some it may be the dander, some the saliva….if you are allergic to dogs, meet with some Westie owners and see how you individually do with them. You may be fine, you may not.
I would also see your doctor and explain the situation, they may have to increase or start you on new allergy meds so that you can adapt better to owning a dog.
